For bolster seats from Cobalt from approximately years 2005 – 2017. These are for the single width seats with the grab bar and map pocket on the back only. If the plastic seat pan molding is cracked on the top and the bottom and the bolster hinges and/or the Garelick mounting frame no longer have support, this repair kit can save you hundreds of dollars!
The repair plates are constructed out of 6061 Aluminum and CNC machined and the mounting plugs are stainless steel and polyethylene.
Easily DIY installed – no need for the dealer or an upholstery shop as long as the vinyl is still intact. All required hardware is included (PLEASE NOTE: THE SLIDING SEAT FRAME SHOWN IN THE PICTURE IS NOT INCLUDED – YOU WILL REUSE YOUR EXISTING SLIDING FRAME)
This kit is needed if the bottom of the molded seat pan is broken and can no longer support the seat pedestal mounting frame. It will also provide a new mounting surface for the bolster hinges. If only the top of the molded seat pan is broken – that is, where the bolster hinges attach – then this kit is unnecessary and you only need the Upper Kit.
****Please understand – this kit is only able to help support the weight on the seat cushion if the molded seat pan is damaged where the bolster and mounting frame attach. If the molded seat pan is severely damaged, then the seat back may have movement or play even after installing this kit.

Our family has a 2007 Cobalt 252 that we bought new and hope to own for many more years. It’s still in good shape, but the plastic structure supporting the captain’s seat was broken pretty badly both on the top and bottom sides. I am so glad we found the Sliderule Racing solution that offered a well engineered solution to fix the seat. My son helped me put it together with no problems. The instructions were in color and were easy to follow. Given how expensive or difficult to find it would be to buy a new seat or how disappointing it would be to replace the broken seat with a non Cobalt seat, I would say the Sliderule Racing solution is a very good value.
